IRPA 회장(Roger Coates)의 서신을 첨부파일로 함께 송부합니다.

서신에서도 나와있듯이 보고서(초안)에서 2가지 고려해야할 사항을 강조하고 있습니다.  

There are perhaps two key points to consider in this draft. 

First is the idea that effective dose can be used as a rough indicator of risk in some circumstances. 

The report tries to outline when this is and is not reasonable. 

Second, the draft proposes to stop using equivalent dose as an important radiological protection quantity. In addition the report comments on the use of collective dose in the context of risk projection. Of course there may also be other issues of interest to societies and practitioners.

You should be aware that ICRP have just issued a draft report on “The Use of Effective Dose as a Radiological Protection Quantity” for public consultation. The document can be found on the ICRP website:  http://www.icrp.org/page.asp?id=382

 

 

IRPA is prepared to respond to ICRP as ‘The International Voice of the Radiation Protection Profession’. Please find enclosed an IRPA letter from our IRPA president, Roger Coates.

 

 

Could you please pay attention to the short deadline for your answers, we will need to receive your comments no later than 13 July in order to meet ICRP’s 3 August deadline.
