2 ICRP

  • ICRP is an independent, international organization that advances for the public benefit the science of radiological protection, in particular by providing recommendations and guidance on all aspects of protection against ionizing radiation.
  • ICRP is a Registered Charity (a non-profit organization) in the United Kingdom, and has a Scientific Secretariat in Ottawa, Canada.
  • ICRP is comprised of a Main Commission, a Scientific Secretariat, five standing Committee
    (on Effects, Doses, Medicine, Application, and the Environment), and a series of Task Groups and Working Parties.

3 The Significance & Attraction of ICRP 2015

  • Showing the radiation safety and protection as a top priority, it makes the international community a friendly atmosphere for the peaceful use of atomic energy.
  • To understand the trends in radiation protection and the policy direction at an early stage and to provide a forum for the exchange of opinion with the leading international experts.
  • Issues such as the lessons of the Fukushima nuclear accident, medical radiation safety enhancement and communication of radiation risks with public will be the key issues among others.

4 ICRP Symposium

The ICRP symposia are held every two years for general researchers and experts.
  • It is an opportunity to hear about ICRP’s recommendations and work-in-progress directly from ICRP members, to have your views on this work heard, and to network with ICRP members and radiological protection colleagues from all parts of the world.
